Iisakki Järvenpää Kauhava Decorative Puukko, Marquetry Handle
This knife carries the workshop's engraved mark on the blade, from the workshop of Iisakki Järvenpää, a self-taught knifesmith who began making knives in Kauhava, Finland around 1879 and became one of the most historically significant figures in Finnish knifemaking, credited alongside his cousin with creating the traditional "Kauhavalainen" knife style.
The handle is built from stacked birch bark rings inlaid with a floral and butterfly marquetry design, finished with a large brass pommel and an engraved brass bolster. It comes with its original leather sheath.
