Empire Winsted 4-Blade Scout Utility Knife

$115.00

This four-blade scout/camp utility knife was made by the Empire Knife Co. of Winsted, Connecticut, tang-stamped "EMPIRE WINSTED" with pattern number 4-BS (4-Blade Scout) on the reverse. Empire made a range of private-label combination knives like this one before the company folded in the early 1930s, making surviving examples increasingly hard to find. The nickel silver shield reads "SCOUT."

The knife carries a main spear-point blade, a can opener, a screwdriver/cap lifter, and an awl/punch, with jigged bone handle scales, brass liners, and a bail ring. Measures 3 1/2 in / 8.9 cm closed, 6 1/4 in / 15.9 cm open.

The blades show wear consistent with use, while the handles show only minimal pocket wear.
