Iisakki Järvenpää Kauhava Scout Hunting Knife, Leather Handle, Finland, c.1950s
A vintage hunting knife from Iisakki Järvenpää of Kauhava, Finland, one of the country's oldest and most respected knifemaking houses, founded in 1879, carrying the maker's blade etch. This pattern, with its aluminum finger-guard bolster and pommel and long thumb groove, was a mainstay of the company's export lineup through the mid-20th century.
The clip point carbon steel blade is fitted with a handle built up from stacked, sanded, and lacquered leather washers, giving it a rich reddish woodgrain appearance typical of the maker.
Shows honest age and use.
