Harrison Bros & Howson Sheffield Folder, Bone Handle, Pre-1900
This large single-blade folder was made by Harrison Brothers & Howson of Sheffield, England, one of the city's major cutlery firms by the turn of the 20th century. The blade is tang-stamped "Harrison Bros & Howson, Sheffield," with a Norfolk Street works address, the firm's home from its founding in 1849 until the move to a new Carver Street factory in 1900, dating this piece to before 1900.
The knife has a curved, pruner-style blade with a nickel bolster and warm butterscotch bone handle scales. A substantial, well-made 19th-century Sheffield working knife from a respected maker. See Condition Notes below for detail.
