Hand-Forged Hewing Hatchet Head, Offset Bevel
This hewing hatchet head is hand-forged work of unknown origin, ground with an offset, single-bevel edge, the defining feature of a hewing tool. The flat face rides along the timber while the beveled face cuts, letting it flatten a hewn surface in a way a standard centered-bevel axe cannot.
Forged as a single piece with an eye for a handle, the head weighs approximately 800 g (1.76 lb) and is offered as the head only, without a handle. See Condition Notes below for detail.
