George Ibberson Sheffield Jack Knife with Marlinspike

$75.00

George Ibberson & Co. of Sheffield, England produced folding jack knives for both military contract and civilian sailing/rigging markets; this example carries the maker's tang stamp on the marlinspike tool. The pattern (a main blade, secondary blade, combination screwdriver/tin-opener, and hooked marlinspike) is the classic configuration Sheffield cutlers supplied to the Royal Navy and Army through both World Wars, later continuing in civilian production for sailors and yachtsmen.

The four tools are fitted to checkered stainless steel scales, secured by through-rivets.

This is a knife that was carried and worked, not shelved.
