Lion Brand hatchet by Welland Vale Mfg. Co. of St. Catharines, Ontario, one of Canada's most iconic axe and hatchet lines, produced 1912-1950. Stamped with the brand's signature lion medallion.

Head solid and tight on the original wood handle, no looseness. Handle shows old worn paint with heavy flaking, consistent with age and honest use, no cracks or structural issues. Measures 15 3/4 in / 40 cm overall.
