An antique cast iron "Middy Bank" still bank — a standing figural boy in a buttoned sailor-style jacket, with "MIDDY BANK" cast in raised lettering around the base. The Middy Bank is a recognized American still bank pattern dating to circa 1887.
The casting is crisp throughout, with solid two-piece construction and no cracks or breaks. It carries a deep, even black patina with no significant original paint remaining, consistent with genuine age and handling.
Unmarked, as is typical for the pattern, but a well-known and sought-after figural bank with fine facial and costume detail. Stands 5½" tall.
