Antique Combination Tool Kit, Hollow Handle, 3 Bits
Hollow-handle combination tools that store their own bits trace back to 1870s designs such as George W. Gregory's "Improvement in Combination-Tool" (U.S. Patent No. 102,677, May 3, 1870), which paired a hammer head with a chambered handle holding small screwdrivers, gimlets, awls and tack-claws. Similar kits were produced by numerous American hardware makers through the early 20th century, frequently without any maker's mark on the handle itself.
Includes its hollow knurled handle, threaded end cap, hatchet/hammer-style head, and three bits.
