Testa Solingen Bowie Style Hunting Knife, Leather Handle, c.1950s
A vintage Bowie-style hunting knife from Testa of Solingen, Germany, carrying the maker's ricasso stamp. Testa was one of the many Solingen cutlers producing export-market hunting and sporting knives through the mid-20th century, closely following the popular American Bowie pattern.
The clip point carbon steel blade is fitted with a curved steel guard and a handle built up from stacked leather washers with brass spacers, capped with an aluminum pommel.
Shows its age gracefully.
