Vintage Village Blacksmith Butcher Knife — Watertown, Wisconsin, Wood Handle
A vintage butcher knife by Village Blacksmith Co. (also known as "The Village Blacksmith Folks"), manufactured by the Washington Cutlery Company of Watertown, Wisconsin — incorporated in 1906. The blade is stamped "Village Blacksmith, Watertown, Wis."
Village Blacksmith knives have real documented history: contemporary accounts describe examples turning up on WWI battlefields in France, carried overseas by American soldiers and later exhibited back home as a point of local pride for the Watertown maker.
The blade shows an honest, even patina consistent with genuine age and use. The wood handle is solid and secure on its two brass pins.
